The event, named “libérez vos idées” (free your ideas), is being held from 13-17 November, and is mainly geared towards young entrepreneurs and start-ups. Workshops, discussions, conferences, meetups and visits are part of the 58 sessions spread across Geneva in places such as the United Nations building, University of Geneva, Campus Biotech Innovation Park, CERN, and various labs, nonprofits, startups, and business groups. Several sessions are focused on intellectual property, such as “start-up for SDGs [United Nations Sustainable Development Goals]” on 14 November, “Protect your ideas: introduction to intellectual property” (in French) on 15 November, and “Protect your ideas: practical session on patent, marks, industrial designs searches” (in French) on 16 November. There is also a panel on choosing an open source business model to generate revenue and attract investment. Most sessions are freely accessible, however some ask attendees to register.
