The text is a work in progress, according to the group of delegates tasked with proposing consensual language on a draft treaty text coming from previous meetings of the committee. The new text is here [pdf]. The 29th session of the Intergovernmental Committee on Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources, Traditional Knowledge and Folklore (IGC) is taking place from 15-19 February. One of the facilitators, named by the chair of the IGC, presented the changes proposed to the Consolidated Document [pdf] Relating to Intellectual Property and Genetic Resources. The IGC discussed core issues in this document this week in the hope of breaching gaps between points of view. It is hoped that a new version of this consolidated document can be issued at the end of the session. Discussions are expected to start shortly on the proposed document by the facilitators.
