White & Case Expanding WTO Practice In Geneva

White & Case law firm has announced it is looking to hire two lawyers for its growing World Trade Organization (WTO) practice in Geneva.

An international firm with one of the leading WTO practices, it handles WTO issues on behalf of sovereign and private-sector clients, including multinational corporations, national governments, state-owned entities, trade associations, manufacturers, exporters and importers. The practice “spans virtually the entire spectrum of WTO rules affecting trade in goods, services, and intellectual property,” and is active in WTO dispute settlement proceedings, it says.

The firm is looking for two associates in Geneva. It states:

“The successful candidate for the senior Associate position will ideally have at least 5-6 years of practical experience in WTO law, whether at a law firm, as a delegate to the WTO, or as a lawyer in the WTO Secretariat. Trade remedies experience would be an asset.

The successful candidate for the junior Associate position will ideally have 1-2 years of professional experience since law school. For the junior position, prior WTO experience is desirable but not essential.

Both candidates must be fluent in English and have outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
