Ian Hargreaves, a University of Cardiff media professor who is leading the review, on 17 December published a document detailing questions to be considered by the review. The review was launched by UK Prime Minister David Cameron in November and will report in April 2011. Comments are being sought by 1 March. “We must ensure the UK has an IP system that drives innovation and growth,” Hargreaves said in a release. “This review will identify the barriers to growth and, where they exist, work out how to remove them. The review will set out short-term improvements that could be made as well as a long-term vision for the IP system.” Of particular interest is the impact of IP on small and medium-sized businesses. The review also will look at new business models and how to remove barriers to growth associated with IP. The call for evidence and other information about the review is available here.
