The event is addressing latest issues at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), prospects for US and international patent reform, US copyright law reform in the context of international developments, cutting edge practices for promoting and protecting brands in social media, and a variety of corporate practices using IP rights at home and abroad. Among the discussions is the impact of IP rights on knowledge access and the appropriateness of IP. Speakers include Patent Commissioner Robert Stoll and Trademark Commissioner Lynne Beresford, Berkeley Law Professor Pamela Samuelson and Microsoft Associate General Counsel for Worldwide IP Policy Richard Wilder.
