Intellectual Property Watch reported on the meeting earlier, including statements made by stakeholders (IPW, WHO, 31 March 2010). The new documents are from the WHO secretariat and include the meeting agenda [pdf], a and list of participants. They also include a presentation [pdf] on IMPACT, and overview [pdf] of the activities of IMPACT’s working groups, and a WHO presentation [pdf] on “counterfeit” terminology. The terminology presentation does not include the results of a 2009 WHO survey on the national uses of the term “counterfeit medicines,” though it does include which countries have responded to a WHO letter inviting them to share that information (IPW, WHO, 11 December 2009). The counterfeit issue has been a controversial one at the WHO, and is expected to be discussed at the May World Health Assembly.
