The TRIPS Council special sessions are working on the Doha Round mandate to establish a register for geographical indications on wines and spirits, in a multilateral system, under the Doha Development Agenda. Ambassador Tan is currently chair for the regular TRIPS Council. Ambassador Clarke chaired his last meeting on 27 November (IPW, Trademarks/Geographical Indications, 23 November 2009).
